"Aledo Times Newspaper; 24 September 1925
Mrs. Lovila Jacobs was born February 7, 1830, at Burbon, Indiana, and died at her home in New Boston Saturday afternoon, September 17, 1925, at 4 o’clock, aged 95 years, 7 months and 17 days. Her illness and death were caused by old age. She was married to Isaac Jacobs. She leaves to mourn her death four sons: Amzy Jacobs of Forsythe, Montana; Greenburg Jacobs, of Gladstone; Andrew Jacobs, of New Boston and Sam Jacobs, of Fulton. One daughter, Mrs. Henry Burkhart, preceded her in death. She also leaves nine grandchildren to mourn their loss. She will be missed by all who knew her, among them, besides the relatives, a host of friends. She always had a kind word for all and was greatly loved and respected. (poem) A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant on our home That never can be filled. (end poem) Funeral services were held Sunday forenoon at 10 o’clock, short services being held at the cemetery. Burial was in New Boston cemetery." [Transcribed 28 May 2009]
