"Mrs. Annie Grant, aged 65, mother of Miss Edna Grant, head of the catalogue department of the Moline public library and former teacher in the high school commercial department, died at 11:40 last night in her home in Moline. She had been ill for the last two years.
Mrs. Grant was born in Millville, N.J., on May 14, 1867. She had been a resident of Moline for many years.
Mrs. Grant’s maiden name was Miss Annie Love Blair and she was married to Walter Clark Grant in Sunnyhill on Oct. 1, 1896, the couple coming to Moline to live shortly afterward. Mr. Grant died on Nov. 19, 1921. Mrs. Grant was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by one daughter, Miss Edna Grant of Moline, and a brother, John Blair of Orion.
Funeral services will be held at 2 Monday afternoon in the residence. The Rev. A.C. Bailey, pastor of the United Presbyterian church of Moline, will officiate. Burial will be in Western cemetery, Orion. The body will remain in Knox funeral home, Moline, until Monday morning when it will be taken to the residence for the services." . Her mother (Eliza Love Blair) died when she was a baby and she was reared by her grandmother Mary Ann Love." Per Bessie Blair's notes of Jun 1988. It's also known that when she was a teenager that she was also staying with her uncle Alexander Love in Henry County, Illinois on his farm with family and her brother John B. Blair per the 1880 Federal Census records for Illinois. Also, she did keep some written records (notes of January 1894) of the family and passed them onto "Aunt Bessie" M. Blair for safe keeping.
