ILGenWeb Project
In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the MIGenWeb Project. The idea was
toprovide a single entry point for all
Michigan counties,where collected databases
would be stored. In addition, the databases
would be indexed and cross-linked, sothat even
if an individual were found in more than onecounty, they could be located in the index. At the sametime, volunteers were found who were willing
to coordinate the collection of databases
and generally oversee the contents of the
web page.

Special thanks and consideration to
Susie
Martin who was the Henry County CC from 1998 to 2006. Susie had put much
effort both in the site management and content of the Henry
county website.
